Challenge

When performing SharePoint backup, some users may be marked with the following warning:

SharePoint:  XX finished with warning: Failed to resolve personal site owner. A user may not have a valid Microsoft Office 365 license with a SharePoint plan enabled

Solution

Assign a Microsoft 365 plan that has SharePoint. You can view the different plans needed here.

Cause

This is due to the user, not having a Microsoft 365 License with the correct plan enabled.
